The Outpatient Department at Epsom & St. Helier University Hospital NHS Trust has improved its communications with patients and also benefited from additional income generated from sponsored information display boards installed in the busy OPD waiting areas of its two main hospitals.

Sue Steel and Sue Germaine, OPD Senior Sisters, explain: "The recently installed display boards have been very well received by the staff, patients & visitors and in addition we have generated some extra income that we can now use to further improve our patient environment."

The central area of the wall mounted boards is either pin-board or white board and is for use by hospital staff. Premier Concepts are able to provide the boards at nil cost because limited sponsorship, approved by the Trust, supports the cost of the project.

"We achieved the sponsorship by working very closely within guidelines from the Epsom & St. Helier University NHS Trust. Typically the support comes from the local authority departments, appropriate charities, and health & care related local commercial businesses" comments Helen Adams, Managing Director of Premier Concepts. "This means we can not only provide high quality purpose made information points to assist patients, visitors and staff, but we are also able to pay an annual income straight to the hospital department that has commissioned the boards".
